Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar
Habyt has introduced a new accomodation spot at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the flagship spot for the operator’s Habyt Flex approach, which offers a strategic expanding of the business’s product offerings past extensive co-living.
A public tender to lease the real estate, now taken care of by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was introduced in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based upon the bid price and the quality of the proposed concept, and SLA urged bidders to consider inspired lifestyle ideas.
The site was granted to Bethesda Medical, that submitted a per month rental bid of $103,000, the third-highest quote cost after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).
Kada at Maxwell will use a variety of spaces, including en suite studios and two- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a fully installed kitchenette. Guests can book spaces on a nightly or weekly basis, with a 12-month selection also available.
SLA pointed out Bethesda’s strong emphasis on neighborhood building and connecting people with businesses as what gave its strategy the winning edge. The first floor will include 10 F&B offerings, whilst the second ground will house a gym by Limitless, a wellness centre in partnership with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working room. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell is on the 3rd level.
In August, Habyt Asia Pacific CEO Jonathan Wong signalled that the business was trying to add even more short-term living options to its local lineup. The first properties under the Habyt Flex idea are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both launched in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept involve Habyt Cantonment and Owen House by Habyt.
“By mixing modern benefits with the ageless charm of a heritage building, we’re offering guests a special lifestyle experience that goes beyond standard lodging,” adds Wong.
Locals of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy infinite and complimentary access to the property’s health and wellness amenities, including the performance gym, cold plunge, infrared saunas, hot tubs and foot baths.
The versatile living space is located throughout a maintained 1920s colonial building. The three-storey structure, designed by the architectural firm Swan & Maclaren, was one of the earliest modernist structures in Singapore. It was constructed to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.
Wong says Habyt Kada at Maxwell speaks for the company’s dedication to redefining flexible living in Singapore and marks its change towards the upcoming step of development for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room prices at Kada at Maxwell is going to begin at $180 per day.
